Patch test required, this will be done on the day of consultation.
You will be required provide your complete medical history and details of current medications (including prescription, OTC, and herbal supplements).
Notify me if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of keloids, herpes simplex (cold sores), or light-sensitive conditions.
Refrain from tanning (both sun exposure and tanning beds) for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment.
Discontinue the use of self-tanning products (sprays, lotions) at least two weeks beforehand.
Avoid waxing, plucking, and electrolysis for 4–6 weeks prior — the laser requires intact hair follicles (shaving is permitted).
Do not bleach the area to be treated.
Shave the treatment area 24–48 hours before your appointment.
Cease using topical irritants on the area for several days before treatment:
Inform the clinic if you are taking medications (e.g., certain antibiotics like doxycycline, St. John’s wort, some diuretics) — they may advise you to pause or delay treatment.
Avoid tanning injections/boosters and sunburns; we will not proceed with treatment on sunburned skin and you will be charged if you attend with sunburnt/ tanned skin
Remove makeup, deodorant, lotions, perfumes, and jewellery from the treatment area before your arrival.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing on the day of the appointment to reduce friction on treated areas afterward.
Results, risks, and recovery can vary based on skin tone, hair colour, and hormones.
Be prepared to sign consent forms and discuss realistic results, risks, number of sessions (typically 4–8+), and suitable intervals for your treatment area.
Anticipate temporary redness, swelling, and mild follicular edema; these are normal and generally resolve within hours to a few days.
Soothe the area with a cold compress (wrapped ice pack or cool gel pads) for short intervals to relieve discomfort.
Maintain cleanliness of the treated area using a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser; pat dry—do not rub.
Apply a soothing, fragrance-free moisturizer or aloe vera gel.
Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30–50 daily and avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks (or longer if advised); reapply frequently while outdoors.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, and vigorous exercise that induces heavy sweating for 24–48 hours
Refrain from swimming in chlorinated pools or hot tubs for 24–48 hours
Do not wax, pluck, or use hair removal methods that eliminate the follicle between sessions; shaving is permitted if necessary.
Avoid exfoliating products (AHA/BHA, scrubs) and topical retinoids for approximately 5–7 days after treatment.
Refrain from applying makeup to treated facial areas for 24 hours if the skin is irritated; if small crusts or blisters develop, avoid picking—keep the area clean and moist and seek advice.
Minor blistering, crusting, or pigmentation changes may occur; contact your provider if you experience severe pain, large blisters, signs of infection (increasing redness, pus, warmth), or persistent hyper- or hypopigmentation.
Follow up: Attend all scheduled sessions spaced according to your provider’s recommendations (typically every 4–8 weeks, depending on the area and hair growth cycle).
If prescribed topical steroids (e.g., hydrocortisone 1%) or other medications, use them precisely as directed and only for the short term unless otherwise instructed.
Be patient: hair may seem to “grow” after treatment as treated hairs shed over 1–3 weeks; do not pick or tweeze.
Keep your provider updated on any changes in medication, new tanning, or unusual reactions between sessions.
Always adhere to the specific pre/post instructions provided to ensure safe treatment
If you have any doubts or experience unexpected pain, blistering, or signs of infection, promptly reach out to your treating clinic or a medical professional.
